RESOLUTION NO. 2004-08 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bruce G. Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE NECESSITY OF RENEWING BY LEVY <br />A TAX IN EXCESS OF THE 10-MILL LIMITATION AND SUBMITTING <br />THE SAME TO THE ELECTORATE OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO <br />WHEREAS, the Council deems it to be in the best interest of the municipality to renew the <br />levy of a 2.3 mills tax for an additional period of five (5) years for the payment of current <br />expenses. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, <br />OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. It is necessary to .renew a levy of 2.3 mills in excess of the 10-mill limitation for <br />the benefit of Mayfield Village for the purpose of paying current expenses at a rate not to exceed <br />2.3 mills for each $1.00 of valuation, which amounts to Twenty-Three Cents ($.23) for each One <br />Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of valuation for a period of five (5) years beginning with the tax <br />duplicate year 2005, which levy is a renewal of an existing levy of 2.3 mills. <br />SECTION 2. The question of renewing the existing tax levy shall be submitted to the electors <br />of Mayfield Village, Ohio, at the general election to be held at the usual voting places within said <br />municipality on November 2, 2004. <br />SECTION 3. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to certify a copy of this <br />Resolution to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections as provided by law, and to notify the <br />Board of Elections to cause notice of said election on the question of levying said tax to be given <br />as required by law. <br />SECTION 4. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating <br />to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its cominittees, resulting in such formal action, took place in <br />meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 5.
