RESOLUTION NO. 2004-14 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE POLICE CHIEF <br />TO APPLY FOR D.A.R.E. PROGRAM FUNDING <br />WHEREAS, the office of the Attorney General for the State of Ohio is taking <br />applications for funding and implementation of D.A.R.E. programs for the school <br />years 2004 and 2005; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to submit such application <br />through the Police Chief for the Village. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That the Mayor and Police Chief are hereby and herein <br />authorized and directed to prepare the appropriate forms and to make application <br />to the Attorney General's Office for the State of Ohio for funding for the D.A.R.E. <br />Program in the Mayfield Village Schools for the 2004 and 2005 school year. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the <br />Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open <br />meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its <br />committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the <br />public in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of <br />Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 3. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the health, safety and <br />welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village. It shall, therefore, take effect <br />immediately upon passage by the affirmative vote of not less than five (5) <br />members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest <br />time allowed by law.
