Rinker and Council as a Whole. <br />LPI JrRe5011" Ot ATrwwm t0 <br />1?etec*e &rgeant 1auid JVI. ,C*tt <br />WHEREAS, David Liggett was sworn in as a patrolman on May lst, 1973; and <br />WHEREAS, Patrolman Liggett received his initial assignment to the <br />Detective Bureau in January, 1981; and <br />WHEREAS, Detective Liggett was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on May <br />5th, 1989; and <br />WHEREAS, several years ago, after an extensive screening process and <br />background check, Dave's application to attend the FBI National Academy was <br />approved; and <br />WHEREAS, fewer than 1% of the nation's top law enforcement officers have <br />the privilege of attending this prestigious law enforcement training course; and <br />WHEREAS, from April 10, 1994 to June 24, 1994, Dave was able to attend <br />the 177th Session; and <br />WHEREAS, Dave's course of study at the FBI National Academy included: <br />Leadership Ethics and Decision-making; Legal Issues for Command Level Officers; <br />Forensic Science for Managers; Major Case Management; Interviews and <br />Interrogations; Inter-personal Violence and Fitness in Law Enforcement; and <br />WHEREAS, Detective Sergeant Liggett maintained excellent grades <br />throughout the 11-week course of study, and upon completion was awarded a <br />Diploma from,the Director of the FBI; and <br />WHEREAS, during Dave's 21 years of service to the Mayfield Village Police <br />Department, he has received numerous letters of appreciation from the citizens he <br />serves and letters of commendation from supervisors; and
