ORDINANCE NO. 94-4 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 1185.16(d) RELATIVE <br />TO POLITICAL SIGNS <br />WHEREAS, the Ordinance Review Committee has recommended the <br />amendment of the Political Sign Ordinances in order to better <br />regulate such signs for the aesthetic protection of Mayfield <br />Village; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That Section 1185.16(d) is hereby and herein <br />amended to read as follows: <br />1185.16 SIGN PERMITTED IN ALL DISTRICTS; STANDARDS. <br />Notwithstanding any other provisions of this chapter, the <br />following types of signs shall be permitted in any district: <br />? * * <br />(d) Political Sicrns. Political signs shall be permitted in <br />? all zoning districts but may be displayed only in <br />accordance with the following regulations: <br />(1) Such signs shall be located not less than twenty <br />feet from the right-of-way line. <br />(2) No sign shall exceed nine square feet in area. <br />(3) Such signs shall not be illuminated in any manner. <br />(4) Such signs shall be located as close to the center <br />of the property as possible as measured by the <br />front footage. <br />(5) Such signs may be displayed no sooner than s-i-xty <br />thirtv days prior to an election and shall be <br />removed not later than the day following an <br />election. <br />(6) Such signs shall not prevent a vision problem to <br />vehicular traffic. <br />(7) Such signs shall be eitheparallel or <br />perpendicular to the frontage street of such <br />`property. <br />? There shall only be one sign per candidate per <br />Qermanent parcel number. <br />? Political signs shall be disglayed in front vards <br />only, and if a vacant lot, shall be disAlaved in <br />the front half of the yard. <br />10 Signs shall be securely fcistened to the support <br />stakes or posts, and inser-ted or anchored to the <br />,:- ground in such a fashion that weather conditions <br />will not cause them to fall, bend, lean, or twist. <br />?
