ORDINANCE NO. 94-31 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING THE RETAINING OF A CONSULTANT FOR VARIOUS GRANTS <br />WHEREAS, the preparing of grant proposals involves a survey <br />and a detailed application process, requiring the input and <br />assistance of an experienced consultant; and <br />WHEREAS, since the Village stands to gain certain amounts of <br />funds towards the Worton Park project, estimated to be 1.2 Million <br />Dollars in total, any assistance would be extremely beneficial to <br />our citizens; and <br />WHEREAS, Martin E. Titus, Jr. of Peat Marwick, certified <br />public accountants, has had considerable experience and success in <br />making applications for such grants. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That the Mayor is hereby and herein authorized to <br />enter into a consultant agreement with Martin E. Titus, Jr. as and <br />for representation in the preparation of a CDBG grant application, <br />and is authorized to make payment therefore in an amount not to <br />exceed Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) as and for hourly rate <br />charges. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal <br />actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance <br />have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in <br />such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the health, safety and <br />welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, and for the <br />further reasons set forth in the preamble hereof.
