ORDINANCE NO. 93-20 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 1501 OF THE VILLAGE'S FIRE PREVENTION <br />CODE TO INCORPORATE AMENDMENTS MADE TO THE OHIO FIRE CODE <br />AND BOCA BASIC/NATIONAL FIRE PREVENTION CODE. <br />WHEREAS, the Council for Mayfield Village desires to amend <br />Chapter 1501 of the Village's Fire Prevention Code in order to <br />incorporate amendments made to the Ohio Fire Code and BOCA <br />Basic/National Fire Prevention Code. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. Section 1501.01 of the Village's Fire Prevention <br />Code is hereby and herein amended as follows: <br />1501.01 ADOPTION. <br />(a) Pursuant to Ohio R.C. 731.231, there is hereby <br />adopted by the Municipality, the Ohio Fire Code (OFC) as <br />adopted by the Ohio Division of State Fire Marshal, <br />Department of Commerce, effeeti~e-dtt~le-3;-3.13$-~.r, and as <br />published in Division 1301:7 of the Ohio Administrative <br />Code (OAC), except OAC Section 1301:7-3-09 which is <br />excluded:, and including all amendments to the OFC which <br />have been ado ted since the OFC's effective date. <br />{b) The BOLA Basic/National Fire Prevention Code, <br />198;-s~~~l~-eeli~ies~; as amended by Chapters 1301:7-1 to <br />1301:7-7 of the Ohio Administrative Code, as published by <br />the Building Officials and Code Administrators <br />International, Inc., along with all amendments thereto <br />since its effective date, is incorporated herein as fully <br />as if set out at length. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal <br />actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance <br />have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in <br />such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the health, safety and <br />welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, and for the <br />further reasons set forth in the preamble hereof. It shall, <br />therefore, take effect immediately upon the passage by the <br />affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to <br />Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time <br />allowed by law. <br />
