ORDINANCE NO. 93-20 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 1501 OF THE VILLAGE'S FIRE PREVENTION CODE TO INCORPORATE AMENDMENTS MADE TO THE OHIO FIRE CODE AND BOCA BASIC/NATIONAL FIRE PREVENTION CODE. WHEREAS, the Council for Mayfield Village desires to amend Chapter 1501 of the Village's Fire Prevention Code in order to incorporate amendments made to the Ohio Fire Code and BOCA Basic/National Fire Prevention Code. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. Section 1501.01 of the Village's Fire Prevention Code is hereby and herein amended as follows: 1501.01 ADOPTION. (a) Pursuant to Ohio R.C. 731.231, there is hereby adopted by the Municipality, the Ohio Fire Code (OFC) as adopted by the Ohio Division of State Fire Marshal, Department of Commerce, effeeti~e-dtt~le-3;-3.13$-~.r, and as published in Division 1301:7 of the Ohio Administrative Code (OAC), except OAC Section 1301:7-3-09 which is excluded:, and including all amendments to the OFC which have been ado ted since the OFC's effective date. {b) The BOLA Basic/National Fire Prevention Code, 198;-s~~~l~-eeli~ies~; as amended by Chapters 1301:7-1 to 1301:7-7 of the Ohio Administrative Code, as published by the Building Officials and Code Administrators International, Inc., along with all amendments thereto since its effective date, is incorporated herein as fully as if set out at length. SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. SECTION 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, and for the further reasons set forth in the preamble hereof. It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon the passage by the affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by law.
