ORDINANCE NO. 93-36 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING SECTION 1367.01 OF THE CODIFIED <br />ORDINANCES RELATING TO MINIMUM LIVING <br />AREA FOR DWELLING HOUSES <br />WHEREAS, the Ordinance Review Committee and the Architectural <br />Review Board have made certain recommendations for amendments to <br />Chapter 1367 of the Codified Ordinances; and <br />WHEREAS, Council has deemed these amendments to be necessary <br />for the health, safety and welfare of the citizens in this <br />community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That Section 1367.01 of the Codified Ordinances is <br />hereby and herein amended to read as follows: <br />1367.01 MINIMUM LIVING AREA FOR DWELLING HOUSES. <br />a. A one story single family dwelling house shall have a <br />minimum floor area of not less than 1,800 square feet, <br />exclusive of basement, utility room and garage space. <br />b. A single family dwelling house consisting of one and one- <br />half stories shall have, in addition to a basement or utility <br />room and exclusive of garage space, a minimum first floor area <br />of not less than 1400 square feet and a minimum total floor <br />area of not less than 2200 square feet. <br />c. A single family house consisting of two stories shall <br />have, in addition to a basement or utility room, .and exclusive <br />of garage space, a minimum first floor area of not less than <br />1400 square feet and a minimum total floor area of not less <br />than 2500 square feet. <br />SECTION 2. That the previous Section 1367.01 is hereby and <br />herein repealed in so far as same is inconsistent herewith. <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal <br />actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance <br />have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in <br />such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 4. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the health, safety and <br />welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, and for the <br />
