379.02 TRAFFIC CODE 110 <br />379.02 RESPONSIBILITY OF PARENTS. <br />The parent or guardian of any minor shall not authorize or permit such minor to <br />violate any provision of this chapter under circumstances where the parent or guardian <br />knew or should have known of such violation. (Ord. 84-35. Passed 9-17-84. ) <br />379.03 TRAFFIC CODE APPLICATION. <br />Every person operating a motorized bicycle shall be granted all of the rights and <br />shall be subject to all of the duties applicable to the driver of other motor vehicles by the <br />laws of this State, or by the traffic ordinances of this Municipality applicable to the <br />drivers of other motor vehicles, except as to special regulations which, by their nature, <br />can have no application. (Ord. 84-35: Passed 9-17-84.) <br />379.04 RESTRICTIONS ON OPERATION. <br />(a) A person operating a motorized bicycle shall not ride other than upon the <br />permanent and regular seat attached thereto and meeting the specifications promulgated <br />by the Ohio Director of Highway Safety. <br />(b) No motorized bicycle shall be used to carry more persons at one time than the <br />number for which it is designed and equipped. <br />(c) A person shall ride upon a motorized bicycle only while sitting astride tha- <br />seat facing forward with one leg on each side of the motorized bicycle. <br />(d) No person operating a motorized bicycle shall carry any package, bundle or <br />article that prevents the driver from keeping at least one hand upon the handle bars. <br />(e) No motorized bicycle shall be operated with any part of the handle bar more than <br />fifteen inches above that portion of the seat occupied by the operator when the seat is <br />fully depressed. <br />(f) No person riding upon any motorized bicycle shall attach the same or himself <br />to any vehicle upon a roadway. <br />1993 Replacement <br />
