~~~ Community Safety & Service Liaison <br />The Community Safety and Service Liaison individual will be responsible for the following <br />services to the Village of Mayfield: <br />1. Act as a liaison between the service departments and the Mayor. Departments to include <br />Police, Fire, and Service. <br />2. Promote more community involvement with all service departments, which will enhance <br />relations with residents. <br />3. Aid the service departments in becoming more community service oriented by working <br />with suggestions from both groups. <br />4. Provide specialized training to Police Personnel in the areas of human relations, <br />community relations, officer violator contacts, inter-departmental relations, <br />supervisor/subordinate relations, etc. As training is offered, the chief can extend an <br />invitation to other area departments to attend training as a positive gesture. This would <br />definitely enhance relations with other departments in other cities and villages. Similar <br />programs will be offered to Fire personnel. <br />5. Provide personal safety programs to residents. <br />6. Conduct an annual Safety Services Day for elementary age children and teens. <br />Presentations to encompass motor vehicle safety, drug association for teens; school bus, <br />"home alone" and association with strangers, etc. for elementary age children. All will be <br />presented by skilled professionals in a casual and entertaining atmosphere. <br />7. Assist the Mayor in the following manner: <br />A. Offer recommendations to the Mayor which will enhance services currently <br />being offered to residents. <br />B. Assist the Mayor with any special investigations. <br />C. Be available to the Mayor for special details or coordinating service related <br />functions. <br />8. Be available to accept community suggestions and comments related to service <br />departments. Maintain constant follow-up. <br />"The Safety Service Liaison individual will attend all monthly Council meetings, and will answer <br />directly to the Mayor. <br />SUMMARY: This position can be very beneficial to the Mayor, Council, residents, and service <br />departments. The function and purpose is "positive oriented" with the main purpose being to <br />provide quality service in all areas to Village residents. <br />
