ORDINANCE NO. 92-16 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Pietrafese and Council as a Whole AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT FOR THE PURCHASE OF A BREATHING AIR COMPRESSOR FROM NORCO EQUIPMENT COMPANY WHEREAS, the Village has advertised pursuant to law for bids for a breathing air compressor system; and WHEREAS, the lowest and best bid was that of Norco Equipment Company for the sum of Nineteen Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($19,500.00) for a complete air system; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of Council to award the contract to Norco Equipment Company of North Royalton, Ohio, for a sum not to exceed Nineteen Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($19,500.00) for one Ingersoll-Rand Breathing Air Compressor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. That the Mayor is hereby and herein authorized and directed to enter into an agreement for the purchase of one Ingersoll-Rand Breathing Air Compressor from Norco Equipment Company at 9841 York-Theta Drive, North Royalton, Ohio, for a sum not to exceed Nineteen Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($19,500.00) for use by the Village Fire Department. SECTION 2. The Director of Finance is authorized to make payment to the above mentioned company for a sum not to exceed Nineteen Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($19,500.00). SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. SECTION 4. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, for the reason to encourage commercial development within Mayfield Village. It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon the passage by the affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by law.
