ORDINANCE NO. 92-24 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Pietrafese and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH <br />INDUSTRIAL ADVISORS BUREAU, INC. <br />FOR WORKERS' COMPENSATION SERVICE <br />WHEREAS, the Village of Mayfield workers' compensation annual <br />liability, without applicable assessments, is One Hundred Thirty- <br />Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Ten Dollars ($139,910.00); and <br />WHEREAS, there are a number of pending claims which are <br />increasing the rates being charged to the Village of Mayfield by <br />the Industrial Relations Commission; and <br />WHEREAS, investigating, handling, and recommendations relative <br />to reducing workers' compensation costs is a specialty which the <br />Industrial Advisors Bureau, Inc. has been successful in handling <br />for a number of years. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: ~.~ <br />SECTION 1. That the Mayor is_hereby and herein authorized and <br />directed to enter into an agreement with Industrial Advisors <br />Bureau, Inc., pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth in <br />Exhibit A, for an amount not to exceed One Thousand Seven Hundred <br />Fifty Dollars ($1,750.00) per year, for the services referred to in <br />said agreement. <br />SECTION 2. That the Director of Finance is authorized to make <br />payment for the services referred to in Section 1 hereof. <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal <br />actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance <br />have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in <br />such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 4. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the health, safety and <br />welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, and for the <br />further reasons set forth in the preamble hereof.
