Flynn <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION <br />ESTABLISHING THE MAXIMUM COMPENSATION <br />FOR MEMBERS OF COUNCIL <br />WHEREAS, the members of Council are required to participate in <br />many meetings, including regular Council meetings, caucus meetings, <br />committee meetings, as well as being required to being kept abreast <br />as to other committee work and accomplishments, as well as all <br />activities of all boards and commissions throughout the Village; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the members of Council are required to control and <br />authorize the appropriation and spending of all finances throughout <br />the Village; and <br />WHEREAS, the budget of the Village of Mayfield, along with the <br />important zoning issues and litigation matters, has consumed an <br />increasing number of hours of the members of Council. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That pursuant to the authority of Article III, <br />Section 7, of the Charter of the Village of Mayfield, the <br />compensation of the members of Council is hereby and herein <br />established so as not to exceed Eight Thousand Dollars ($8,000.00) <br />per annum. <br />SECTION 2. That the question to be placed on the ballot for <br />all Village electors on May 5, 1992, shall read as follows: <br />SHALL THE ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION OF THE <br />MEMBERS OF COUNCIL SO AS TO LIMIT SAME FROM EXCEEDING <br />EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS ($8,000.00) PER ANNUM, BE ADOPTED? <br />YES <br />NO <br />SECTION 3.. That the Clerk of Council is hereby and herein <br />directed to certify a copy of this Resolution to the Board of <br />Elections not later than sixty (60) days prior to the May 5, 1992, <br />primary election. <br />SECTION 4. The Council finds and determines that all formal <br />actions of the Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution <br />have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in <br />such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
