RESOLUTION NO. 2009-10 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE <br />TO FILE APPLICATIONS WITH THE OHIO PUBLIC WORKS COMMISSION <br />AND THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY NATURAL RESOURCES ASSISTANCE COUNCIL <br />FOR FUNDS THROUGH THE <br />'CLEAN OHIO CONSERVATION PROGRAM. <br />WHEREAS, the Clean Ohio Conservation Program is a unique opportunity for <br />advancing environmental conservation in Mayfield Village and Cuyahoga County; and <br />WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga County Natural Resources Assistance Council has <br />been assigned the task of administering the Conservation Program and the funds <br />allocated thereunder in Cuyahoga County; and <br />WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga County Natural Resources Assistance Council has <br />established a procedure to select projects with the intent to ensure that natural resources, <br />open spaces and watersheds are preserved, landscapes that have been degraded or <br />destroyed are restored, the quality of natural areas or open spaces are enhanced, natural <br />areas are linked to each other, and public access is provided to these natural areas; and <br />WHEREAS, the Village deems it in the best interest of the Village and its residents <br />to submit an application with the Ohio Public Works Commission and the Cuyahoga <br />County Natural Resources Assistance Council for funding through the Clean Ohio <br />Conservation Program to be used for Village's Beecher's Brook restoration project. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Mayor and Director of Finance are hereby authorized to file <br />applications with the Ohio Public Works Commission and the Cuyahoga County Natural <br />Resources Assistance Louncil for funds through the Clean Ohio Conservation Program <br />and to commit to a 25% match of local funds toward the total project cost in partnership <br />with the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District. <br />SECTION 2. The Mayor and Director of Finance are further authorized to enter <br />into any additional agreements as may be necessary or appropriate for obtaining the <br />financial assistance requested through the filing of the application. <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the <br />Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of <br />this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such
