ORDINANCE NO. 2007-11 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING THE SELECTION OF MAROUS BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION, INC. <br />TO RENDER CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT SERVICES RELATED TO THE <br />CONSTRUCTION OF THE VILLAGE'S POLICE STATION AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT. <br />WHEREAS, the Village, pursuant to R.C. 153.65 through 153.71, solicited <br />Qualification Statements from individuals and firms interested in providing construction <br />management services to the Village; and <br />WHEREAS, after legal notices were advertised soliciting such individuals and firms, <br />Qualification Statements were received and reviewed; and <br />WHEREAS, thereafter, a firm was found to be the most qualified firm to provide <br />construction management services related to the construction of the Village's Police Station; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, at this time and after further investigation and consultation by the <br />Village's committee comprised of the Chief of Police, the Village's Municipal Architect and <br />Building Commissioner, another more qualified firm has been selected for recommendation <br />to Council based upon such factors as company experience, staffing capabilities, past <br />project referrals, stability and a sense of suitability; and <br />WHEREAS, Council deems it in the best interest of the Village and its residents to <br />repeal Ordinance 2006-40 and to authorize the selection of Marous Brothers Construction, <br />Inc. as the firm most qualified to provide construction management services related to the <br />construction of the Village's Police Station. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Mayor is authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with <br />Marous Brothers Construction, Inc., in accordance with the fee proposal submitted in an <br />amount not to exceed Two Hundred and Eighty-Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars <br />($282,500.00); which has been chosen to be the most qualified firm pursuant to the <br />mandates of Revised Code 153.65 through 153.71 to provide construction management <br />services related to the construction of the Village's Police Station. <br />
