ORDINANCE NO. 2007-11 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SELECTION OF MAROUS BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION, INC. TO RENDER CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT SERVICES RELATED TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE VILLAGE'S POLICE STATION AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT. WHEREAS, the Village, pursuant to R.C. 153.65 through 153.71, solicited Qualification Statements from individuals and firms interested in providing construction management services to the Village; and WHEREAS, after legal notices were advertised soliciting such individuals and firms, Qualification Statements were received and reviewed; and WHEREAS, thereafter, a firm was found to be the most qualified firm to provide construction management services related to the construction of the Village's Police Station; and WHEREAS, at this time and after further investigation and consultation by the Village's committee comprised of the Chief of Police, the Village's Municipal Architect and Building Commissioner, another more qualified firm has been selected for recommendation to Council based upon such factors as company experience, staffing capabilities, past project referrals, stability and a sense of suitability; and WHEREAS, Council deems it in the best interest of the Village and its residents to repeal Ordinance 2006-40 and to authorize the selection of Marous Brothers Construction, Inc. as the firm most qualified to provide construction management services related to the construction of the Village's Police Station. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO THAT: SECTION 1. The Mayor is authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with Marous Brothers Construction, Inc., in accordance with the fee proposal submitted in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred and Eighty-Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($282,500.00); which has been chosen to be the most qualified firm pursuant to the mandates of Revised Code 153.65 through 153.71 to provide construction management services related to the construction of the Village's Police Station.
