RESOLUTION NO. 2007-12 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING <br />THE MAYOR AND THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO FILE AN APPLICATION <br />WITH THE NORTHEAST OHIO AREAWIDE COORDINATING AGENCY <br />(NOACA) <br />FOR FUNDS THROUGH THE TRANSPORTATION FOR LIVABLE <br />COMMUNITIES INITIATIVE (TLCI) PLANNING GRANT TO PROMOTE <br />HIKE AND BIKE TRAILS THROUGHOUT THE VILLAGE <br />WHEREAS, current transportation and pedestrian-friendly deficiencies exist <br />within the Village; and <br />WHEREAS, the comprehensive Master Plan adopted by the Village on <br />October 18, 2004, and the Village's Greenway Plan identify areas where the location <br />of hike and bike trails would be beneficial to the Village, its residents and businesses <br />located therein; and <br />WHEREAS, the goals of the Transportation for Livable Communities Initiative <br />(TLCI) are the goals of Mayfield Village as they relate to the location of the proposed <br />hike and bike trail system in the Village. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Mayor and Director of Finance are hereby authorized to file <br />an application with the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) for <br />funds through the Transportation for Livable Communities Initiative (TLCI) Planning <br />Grant to generally evaluate transportation and pedestrian linkages in the Village, to <br />further evaluate the proposed location of hike and bike trails in the Village and to <br />commit a 20% match of funds awarded. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the <br />Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings <br />of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting <br />in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public in compliance with all <br />statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio <br />Revised Code.
