RESOLUTION NO. 2007-12 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO FILE AN APPLICATION WITH THE NORTHEAST OHIO AREAWIDE COORDINATING AGENCY (NOACA) FOR FUNDS THROUGH THE TRANSPORTATION FOR LIVABLE COMMUNITIES INITIATIVE (TLCI) PLANNING GRANT TO PROMOTE HIKE AND BIKE TRAILS THROUGHOUT THE VILLAGE WHEREAS, current transportation and pedestrian-friendly deficiencies exist within the Village; and WHEREAS, the comprehensive Master Plan adopted by the Village on October 18, 2004, and the Village's Greenway Plan identify areas where the location of hike and bike trails would be beneficial to the Village, its residents and businesses located therein; and WHEREAS, the goals of the Transportation for Livable Communities Initiative (TLCI) are the goals of Mayfield Village as they relate to the location of the proposed hike and bike trail system in the Village. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. The Mayor and Director of Finance are hereby authorized to file an application with the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) for funds through the Transportation for Livable Communities Initiative (TLCI) Planning Grant to generally evaluate transportation and pedestrian linkages in the Village, to further evaluate the proposed location of hike and bike trails in the Village and to commit a 20% match of funds awarded. SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
