SOM Center Store Remodel <br />Mayor Rinker, <br />I am writing on behalf of Heinen's, Inc., to inform Mayfield Village of our plans to undertake <br />a major remodel of our SOM Store at 860 SOM Center Road. We intend to make the <br />following improvements: <br />1. Significant layout and display changes in all major departments. This includes new <br />refrigerated and dry display fixtures, new lighting and new finishes <br />2. Adding new food service options for our customers, including a seating area for 60 <br />, j to 70 people. We feel this seating, in conjunction with an expanded prepazed food <br />*?? I selection, will provide the community with a casual, self-service dining option that <br />llll?ns offers a wide variety of high quality food at great values. <br />r 1a .-: r o o d s 1 3. New Hot and Cold kitchens in the store's baclToom to support the food service <br />4540 Richmond Road offerings noted above. <br />4. Construction of three (3) building additions. One on the south side of the store to <br />Wairensvii?e Heights, Oluo accommodate new kitchens and coolers. The second, on the east side of the store for <br />44128 the seating area. The third will be a new enirance at the northeast corner of the store. <br />p, 216.475.2300 We are proposing the north entrance as our commitment to previous discussions with the <br />Village regarding their desire to develop the property unmediately north of our store. We <br />f 216.514.4788 <br />j view this as a posirive, synergistic opportunity for both the Village and Heinen's. To support <br />our commitment to the Village's plans we ask that the Village provide the following: <br />, a) An easement on which to build our enhance addition <br />b) Construction of a one-way driveway linking the Village's properiy to Heinen's east <br />. parking lot. This will allow shoppers parked north of our store to access our parcet <br />, pick-up. <br />. c) Construction of 25 to 30 parking spaces within 100' of our new north ent?rance - we <br />aze not asking for exclusive or reserved parldng spaces, only that this many spaces be <br />placed as close to our new eritrance as possible. <br />. d) Installation of paving, landscaping and other site amenities that provide an.attractive <br />and accessible pedestrian route to Heinen's new entrance from the westem portion of <br />the Village's developed site. <br />e) Allow Heinen's to place a building sign on the upper north face of our store that will <br />remain visible from Wilson Mills Road after all the Village's building and site <br />improvements.
