~'L{sLl~u~ <br />LL[tt~ <br />RESOLUTION 2006-25 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bruce G. Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION <br />TO WALSH JESUIT HIGH SCHOOL <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Walsh Jesuit High School's Girl's Soccer Team had a regular season record <br />of 23-0 in 2006; and <br />WHEREAS, due to outstanding teamwork, Walsh Jesuif High School Girl's Soccer Team <br />captured the State Championships, thereby clinching the title of 2006 National Champions; and <br />WHEREAS, Walsh Jesuit's High School Girl's Soccer Team's players, coaches, staff, <br />trainers and volunteers are to be commended for their championship season. In particular, Mayfield <br />Village salutes Kelly Thomas, daughter of our Recreation Director, Bill Thomas, for individually <br />utilizing her talents to assist in the achievements that Walsh Jesuit's High School Soccer Team strove <br />for and gained victory. <br />WHEREAS, it should further be noted that for the first time in 25 years in the State of Ohio, <br />Walsh Jesuit High School's girls and boys soccer program both achieved the State title for 2006. <br />THAT: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, <br />SECTION 1. The Village of Mayfield, its Mayor, Council, residents, employers, employees <br />and officials hereby congratulates and heartily commends the 2006 soccer team from Walsh Jesuit <br />High School, whose names are listed on the page following this Resolution. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the Council relating to <br />the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in <br />meetings open to the public in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements <br />of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 3. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to prepare duplicate <br />original copies of this Resolution. One such original shall be presented to Kelly Thomas on behalf of <br />Walsh Jesuit High School. The other original shall be placed in the permanent records of the Village. <br />SECTION 4.
