~~~L~S~C[~LLL~t~ <br />RESOLUTION 2006-26 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bruce G. Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO <br />ROBERT F. DROBNICK <br />WHEREAS, on or about July 11, 2005, Robert Drobnick began. employment with Mayfield <br />Village as a part-time Building Inspector. <br />WHEREAS, while employed with Mayfield Village, Robert Drobnick did an exemplary job up to <br />the time he retired on October 20, 2006; and <br />WHEREAS, Robert Drobnick (known to many as "Bob"), should also be applauded for his <br />many years of service to communities and residents as follows: <br />Bob began his career in 1970 as the Building Commissioner for the City of Euclid, <br />Ohio, where he pioneered the point of sale home inspection program. <br />Bob went on to Mentor, Ohio, serving as their Building Commissioner. <br />Bob then went to Macedonia, where he worked full-time as their Building <br />Commissioner until his retirement in 1995. <br />From 1995 to October 2006, he worked part-time for three municipalities. <br />Bob is a member of the Building Officials Conference of Northeast Ohio, International <br />Association of Electrical Inspectors, Ohio Association of Plumbing Inspectors and <br />Western Reserve Division of the I.A. E.I. <br />Bob was inducted into the Euclid Sports Hall of Fame in 1990. He was the captain of <br />both the football and basketball teams of Euclid Central High School, where he <br />graduated in 1948. <br />Bob and his wife Shirley were King and Queen of the Prom in 1948, married soon <br />thereafter and have celebrated 50+ years of marriage. <br />Up until recently, Bob refereed middle school and high school football and basketball <br />games for the last 50 years. <br />WHEREAS, Robert Drobniok's service, involvement, commitment and dedication to the Village <br />should be commended. <br />THAT: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, <br />Robert F. Drobnick be and is hereby recognized for <br />his many years of dedicated service to many communities, most especially <br />Mayfield Village, Ohio <br />and further that he be recognized as an <br />Outstanding Citizen of Mayfield Village, Ohio <br />SECTION 1. The Village of Mayfield, its Mayor, Council, residents, employers, employees and <br />officials wish to thank Robert Drobnick for his dedicated service on behalf of the Village. He will be <br />sorely missed. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the Council relating to <br />the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took. place in <br />meetings open to the public in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements <br />of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />
