ORDINANCE NO. 2006-18 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDIfVANCE RATIFYING THE COLLECTIVE <br />BARGAINING CONTRACT BETWEEN FOP LODGE 57 AND <br />THE VILLAGE OF MAYFIELD <br />WHEREAS, representatives of the Village of Mayfield and FOP Lodge 57 have been <br />in negotiations with regard to a successor collective bargaining agreement which <br />addresses all the terms and conditions of employment of those members described within <br />the collective bargaining unit and who are members of the Mayfield Village Police <br />Department; <br />WHEREAS, these negotiations have successfully resulted in a tentative agreement <br />which has been ratified by the bargaining unit but is subject to ratification by the Council of <br />the Village of Mayfield; and <br />WHEREAS, Council deems it necessary and in the best interest of the health, safety <br />and welfare of all residents to ratify this agreement on the recommendation of the Mayor, <br />Director of Law and Director of Finance, and wish to further authorize the execution of a <br />contract with FOP Lodge 57. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT. ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That the agreement for a successor collective bargaining contract <br />between Mayfield Village and FOP Lodge 57 is hereby and herein ratified pursuant to <br />the terms and conditions of employment as set forth in that contract which is attached <br />and incorporated into this ordinance as Exhibit AA@. <br />SECTION 2. That the Mayor and President of Council are authorized to execute <br />the successor collective bargaining contract with FOP Lodge 57, and thereafter, the <br />Director of Finance is authorized and directed to comply with all of the financial terms <br />and conditions of that agreement. <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this <br />Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of <br />this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in <br />such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all <br />statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio <br />Revised Code.
