525.16 GENERAL OFFENSES COBE 78B <br />(2) Engage in the practice of law or represent or appear in behalf of an <br />individual or individuals before any court in any matter or controversy in <br />which the Municipality is or may become a party, except on behalf of the <br />Municipality as an officer or employee; or, <br />(3) Appear before any board or commission of the Municipality as counsel, <br />attorney or agent, except in behalf of a constituent or constituents without <br />compensation therefor, or in the performance of public obligations or <br />official duties; or, <br />(4) Use or permit the use of Municipally owned vehicles, equipment, materials <br />or property, for personal convenience or profit, except when such services <br />are available to the public generally; or, <br />(5) Solicit or accept any gift or special services or privilege from any person, <br />firm or corporation with whom he transacts or expects to transact any <br />Municipal business. <br />(b) No person within a period of one year after termination of his services as an officer <br />or employee of the Municipality shall appear before any board or commission of the Municipality <br />as counsel, attorney or agent for or on behalf of any person, firm or corporation, or receive <br />compensation for any services rendered thereto, in relation to any matter which was under his <br />charge during the period of his services as such officer or employee. No person after termination <br />of his services as an officer or employee of the Municipality shall accept employment as a lawyer <br />in any matter which he has investigated or passed upon while in such office or employ, or engage <br />in the practice of law before any court in any litigation in which the Municipality is a party which <br />involves any such matter. <br />(Ord. 902. Passed 8-16-65.) <br />(c) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree. <br />525.16 ASSAULTING POLICE DOG OR HORSE OR AN ASSISTANCE <br />DOG. <br />(a) No person shall knowingly cause, or attempt to cause, physical harm to a police dog <br />or horse in either of the following circumstances: <br />(1) The police dog or horse is assisting a law enforcement off'icer in the <br />performance of the officer's official duties at the tune the physical harm <br />is caused or attempted. <br />(2) The police dog or horse is not assisting a law enforcement off'icer in the <br />performance of the officer's official duties at the time the physical harm <br />is caused or attempted, but the offender has actual knowledge that the dog <br />or horse is a police dog or horse. <br />(b) No person shall recklessly do any of the following: <br />(1) Taunt, torment, or strike a police dog or horse; <br />(2) Throw an object or substance at a police dog or horse; <br />(3) Interfere with or obstruct a police dog or horse, or interfere with or <br />obstruct a law enforcement officer who is being assisted by a police dog <br />or horse, in a manner that does any of the following: <br />A. Inhibits or restricts the law enforcement officer's control of the <br />police dog or horse; <br />B. Deprives the law enforcement officer of control of the police dog <br />or horse; <br />2006 Replacement
