ORDINANCE NO. 2006-36-PAGE 21 <br />(d.) Effective and retroactive to January 1, 2006, if a full-time Service Department <br />employee possesses and maintains his or her Commercial Driver's License (CDL) shall receive <br />a stipend of seven hundred fifty and 00/100 dollars ($750.00). In addition any full-time Service <br />Deparhnent employee that undergoes twenty-four (24) hours of continuing education shall <br />receive a continuing education stipend. The stipend will be seventeen hundred and 00/100 <br />Dollars ($1,700.00) in 2006, seventeen-hundred sixty and 00/100 dollars ($1,760.00) in 2007, <br />eighteen-hundred thirty and 00/100 dollars ($1,830.00) in 2008, nineteen hundred and 00/100 <br />dollars ($1,900.00) in 2009 and nineteen hundred eighty and 00/100 dollars ($1,980.00) in 2010. <br />The courses taken to be eligible for the educational stipend will be approved by the Service <br />Director and the Mayor. A full-time Service Department employee will undergo training during <br />his or her regularly scheduled hours whenever practical and the Village will pay for such <br />training. If a Service Department employee is required to take training while off-duty, he or she <br />will be compensated at his or her appropriate rate for such training including travel time to and <br />from the training and will be reimbursed for his or her mileage to and from such training at the <br />rate set by the Internal Revenue Service pursuant to Section 153.07 (a) above. <br />(e.) Effective and retroactive to January 1, 2003, if the Finance Director possesses <br />certification as a Certified Public Accountant, he or she will receive a stipend equal to the higher <br />of the stipends provided for employees possessing a paramedic's license or the stipends <br />provided to the members of the F.O.P. This stipend will be paid in the same fashion and on the <br />same schedule as the paramedic stipend paid to employees possessing a paramedic's license. <br />In addition, the Finance Director will be reimbursed for his or her annual dues for the American <br />Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Ohio Society of Certified Public <br />Accountants (OSCPA). If the Finance Director attends continuing education seminars or <br />conferences dealing with governmental finance or a conference or seminar required by the Ohio <br />Revised Code, the Village will reimburse the Finance Director for any reasonable expenses <br />associated with that conference and he or she will be entitled to the per diem outlined above. If <br />the seminar or conference is on a subject matter not related to governmental finance or is not <br />required by the Ohio Revised Code, the Finance Director will be responsible for the expenses <br />associated with that seminar or conference. The Mayor will be the final arbiter as to the <br />appropriateness of any seminar or conference for reimbursement. <br />(f.) Effective and retroactive to January 1, 2003, any full-time employee not eligible for <br />the stipend for paramedic's license, the stipends provided to the F.O.P. or full-time Dispatchers <br />or any of the stipends provided above who undergoes thirty-two (32) hours of continuing <br />education shall receive a continuing education stipend. The stipend will be seventeen hundred <br />and 00/100 Dollars ($1,700.00) in 2006, seventeen-hundred sixty and 00/100 dollars ($1,760.00) <br />in 2007, eighteen-hundred thirty and 00/100 dollars ($1,830.00) in 2008, nineteen hundred and <br />00/100 dollars ($1,900.00) in 2009 and nineteen hundred eighty and 00/100 dollars ($1,980.00) <br />in 2010. The courses taken to be eligible for the educational stipend will be approved by the <br />Department Head and the Mayor.
