ORDINANCE NO. 2006-36-PAGE 7 <br />(h) Each part-time firefighter shall receive an allowance for uniform maintenance in <br />an amount not to exceed Five Hundred Fifty and 00/100 Dollars ($550.00) for 2006, Five <br />Hundred Seventy Five and 00/100 Dollars ($575.00) for 2007, Six Hundred and 00/100 <br />Dollars ($600.00) for 2008, Six Hundred Twenty-Five and 00/100 Dollars ($625.00) for <br />2009 and Six Hundred Fifty and 00/100 Dollars ($650.00) for 2010 provided such part-time <br />firefighter attends at least twenty (20) drills annually. Any part-time firefighter who does not <br />attend at least twenty (20) drills during the year or spends an equivalent amount of time in <br />classes or seminars which are approved by the Fire Chief, forfeits any right to uniform <br />allowance for the next calendar year. <br />(i) The Finance Director is hereby authorized to reimburse all members of the Police <br />and Fire Departments for expenditures made in accordance with Subsections (b), (c), (d), (e), <br />( fl, (g), (h), (i) and (j) hereinabove, provided, however, that receipted bills evidencing the <br />purchase are submitted together with an approval for payment by the respective Chiefs of the <br />Departments by January 7Ih of each respective year. Once approved expense forms are <br />received in the Finance Department, the Finance Director is further authorized to make such <br />distributions in the following accounts payable check run in January for the expenditures <br />made in the prior calendar year. If the Village cannot make the purchase directly, and <br />employees are required to do so, then they shall be reimbursed any sales tax incurred. <br />(j) Whenever a uniform item is damaged or destroyed in the line of duty then that <br />item shall be replaced out of the uniform allowance. However, should any employee's <br />maintenance and replacement costs in any year exceed the uniform allowance for that year, <br />upon presentation of receipts evidencing such excess costs, and subject to the <br />recommendation of the appropriate Chief or department head, the employee may be <br />reimbursed for such excess costs. Whenever a uniform item is lost or destroyed by an <br />employee in a manner not related to the performance of his duty then that item shall be <br />replaced at the cost of the employee subject to the recommendation of the appropriate Chief <br />or department head. <br />(k) Whenever different or additional uniform items are required due to the promotion <br />of a full-time member of the Police or Fire Department, the Municipality shall purchase those <br />items for which receipted bills are presented together with an approval for payment from the <br />Chief of the Department. <br />(1) There shall be no uniform allowance or maintenance for part-time police <br />dispatchers, police secretaries, or Building and Service or Fire secretaries and/or clerk <br />receptionists.
