ORDINANCE NO. 2006-43 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE RATIFYING THE COLLECTIVE <br />BARGAINING CONTRACT BETWEEN <br />THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS, LOCAL 2619, <br />AND MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO <br />WHEREAS, representatives of Mayfield Village, Ohio and the International <br />Association of Firefighters, Local 2619, have been in negotiations with regard to a <br />successor collective bargaining agreement which addresses all the terms and conditions of <br />employment of those members described within the collective bargaining unit and who are <br />members of the Mayfield Village Fire Department; <br />WHEREAS, these negotiations have successfully resulted in a tentative agreement <br />which has been ratified by the bargaining unit but is subject to ratification by the Council of <br />the Village of Mayfield; and <br />WHEREAS, Council deems it necessary and in the best interest of the health, safety <br />and welfare of all residents .to ratify this agreement on the recommendation of the Mayor, <br />Director of Law and Director of Finance, and wish to further authorize the execution of a <br />contract with the International Association of Firefighters, Local 2619. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That the agreement for a successor collective bargaining contract <br />between Mayfield Village and the International Association of Firefighters, Local 2619 is <br />hereby and herein ratified pursuant to the terms and conditions of employment as set <br />forth in that contract which is attached and incorporated into this ordinance as Exhibit <br />«A„ <br />SECTION 2. That the Mayor and President of Council are authorized to execute <br />the successor collective bargaining contract with the International Association of <br />Firefighters, Local 2619, and thereafter, the Director of Finance is authorized and <br />directed to comply with all of the financial terms and conditions of that agreement. <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this <br />Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of <br />this Council;. and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in <br />such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all <br />statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio <br />Revised Code.
