C//J <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2005-01 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bruce G. Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO <br />MAUDIE LOU WALTERS ' <br />WHEREAS, Maudie and family moved to the Cleveland area when she was two <br />yeazs old and Maudie attended elementary and high schools in the city; and <br />WHEREAS, Maudie entered the work force by working for General Electric on <br />Noble Road where she worked for the next 23 years; and <br />WHEREAS, Maudie initially came to the Service Department as part-time <br />secretary on September 8, 1987 and when the position became full-time shortly <br />thereafter, Maudie continued serving as the department secretary for the next 17 <br />years; and <br />WfiEREAS, throughout the years Maudie worked for Service Directors Gus <br />Amendola and Douglas Metzung and got to know the Service personnel including <br />numerous summer and part-time staff; and . <br />uruFRFSC, Maudie's sense of dedication and integrity were evident in her <br />willingness to assist everyone with tool lending, requests for repairs to property, roads, <br />mailboxes, and avariety of concerns; ~. <br />WHEREAS, throughout her tenure, Maudie bonded with the Service personnel <br />who became known as "her boys" and she posted hundreds of "green sheets" on the <br />bulletin board; and <br />WHEREAS, Maudie's "boys" say they will miss the compassion of their second . <br />"mom", playing practical jokes on her, the delicious "green stuff' she makes for them <br />(green cake and ambrosia); and Service life won't be the same without her; and <br />WHEREAS, Maudie has announced her retirement effective February 28, 2005; <br />and <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCII. OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OSIO, THAT <br />Mandie Lou Walters be aad is hereby recognized for <br />her devoted service to Mayileld Village. <br />Section 1. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to prepare duplicate <br />original copies of this Resolution. One such original shall be presented to Maudie Lou Walters. <br />The other original shall be placed in the permanent records of the Village as a lasting tribute to <br />Maudie Lou Walters. <br />Section 2.
