RESOLUTION NO. 2005-09 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION <br />ACKNOWLEDGING THE VILLAGE'S INTENT TO ENTER INTO A <br />STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH THE FAIRMOUNT CENTER TO FOSTER <br />HIGH-QUALITY PROFESSIONAL ARTS TRAINING AND PERFORMANCE <br />PROGRAMS IN THE VILLAGE'S CIVIC CENTER AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR TO NEGOTIATE THE TERMS OF THE PARTNERSHIP <br />WHEREAS, the Village of Mayfield and The Fairmount Center have <br />entered into discussions for the use of the Village's Civic Center by The Fairmount <br />Center to provide Mayfield Village residents and surrounding communities high- <br />quality professional arts training and performance programs; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the Village's intention to work with The Fairmount Center to <br />form a strategic partnership to facilitate such training and programs with the <br />Village committing to renovate the Civic Center to accommodate these uses, <br />which will include renovation of the Civic Center's Great Hall into a performing arts <br />space; and <br />WHEREAS, such a partnership is in furtherance of the 2020 Vision Plan <br />and the economic development of existing and future businesses in the area of the <br />Town Center and throughout the Village, including Beta Drive; and <br />WHEREAS, Village Council deems entering into a strategic partnership with <br />The Fairmount Center to be in the best interest of the health, safety and welfare of <br />all Village residents. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO THAT: <br />SECTION 1. Mayfield Village Council acknowledges the Village's intention <br />to enter- into a strategic partnership with The Fairmount Center to promote and <br />facilitate community-based arts training and high-quality professional/community <br />entertainment utilizing the Village's Civic Center and authorizes the Mayor to <br />negotiate the terms of the partnership. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the <br />Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open <br />meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its <br />committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the <br />public in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of <br />Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />1 <br />__ - <br />
