RESOLUTION N0.2005-15 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE PROPOSAL BY THE CHAGRIN RIVER WATERSHED PARTNERS, INC. TO DEVELOP THE CHAGRINRIVER WATERSHED BALANCED GROWTHPLANIN COOPERATION WITH THE OHIO LAKE ERIE COMMISSION'S BALANCED GROWTH PROGRAM WHEREAS, the State of Ohio, through the Ohio Lake Erie Commission's Balanced Growth Program, has identified the need to enhance protection of the State's waters and Lake Erie by supporting local governments to improve planning for development and conservation, and; WHEREAS, the Chagrin River Watershed Partners, Inc, (CRWP) is applying to the Ohio Lake Erie Commission to develop a watershed balanced growth plan to identify potential areas for conservation and development through local government consensus in the Chagrin watershed, and; WHEREAS, the designation of such areas will assist Mayfield Village to minimize future flooding, erosion, and water quality problems, threats to infrastructure, and reliance on costly engineered solutions to storm water problems, and; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That Mayfield Village supports the CRWP application to the Ohio Lake Erie Commission for the Balanced Growth Pilot Project to develop the Chag~•in Rivef• Watershed Balanced Growth Plan. SECTION 2: That Mayfield Village supports the process outlined in the CRWP application to develop listings and maps of Priority Conservation Areas and Priority Development Areas and the CRWP leadership in this process. SECTION 3: That Mayfield Village encourages the Ohio Lake Erie Commission to support the CRWP application. SECTION 4: That it is hereby founded and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council and that all deliberations of this Council acid any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings, open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements, including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. SECTION 5: That public notice of this Resolution shall be given by posting a copy thereof for not less than fifteen (15) days in Mayfield Village.
