1~~ S <br />~z©o5-off <br />RESOLUTION <br />'~O'r ~,i SC;~tiSS i fir. <br />WHEREAS the economic viability of the State of Ohio and the financial well- <br />being of its citizens are heavily dependent upon the viability and <br />effectiveness of its local government entities and its public education <br />systems; and <br />WHEREAS the citizens of our state and, individually, the residents of our <br />communities, expect and deserve safe neighborhoods, prompt, efficient, <br />local government services, and sound, comprehensive life-long <br />educational opportunities; and <br />WHEREAS, in today's environment, the ongoing availability of those services <br />and opportunities can best be assured through active collaboration among <br />Ohio's local governments, its public school systems and its local business <br />leadership; and <br />WHEREAS the Ohio General Assembly will soon be deliberating the adoption of <br />a biennium budget that will have a major impact on the financial capability <br />of Ohio's communities and school districts to provide the services and <br />opportunities upon which our citizens depend; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Chamber of Commerce <br />agrees to partner with Municipal Government and the City <br />Schools to jointly inform the public, the state business community, the <br />Governor and the members of the Ohio General Assembly about the <br />concerns and needs of the communities we serve to ensure a final budget <br />document that provides adequate state resources to help underwrite the <br />cost of delivering essential local government services and educational <br />opportunities throughout the state. <br />AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this organization will encourage and <br />participate in efforts to form regional and individual community <br />partnerships around the state and encourage and participate in an effort to <br />effectively coordinate the efforts of these partnerships for the purpose of <br />maximizing the possibility of obtaining a favorable impact on the State's <br />budget deliberations. <br />
