ORDINANCE NO. 2005-24 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE III, SECTION 6(b) OF THE <br />CHARTER OF IVIAYFIELD VILLAGE PERTAINING TO <br />MAYORAL EXPENSES <br />WHEREAS, Article XI of the Village Charter currently requires that the <br />Charter Review Commission convene every five years to review the Charter, and <br />thereafter to have a review session with the Mayor and Council and then to <br />recommend to the voters 'any amendments to the Charter as in its judgment are <br />desirable; and <br />WHEREAS, the Charter Review Commission has recommended to the <br />voters the following proposed amendment to Article III, Section 6(b). <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO THAT: <br />SECTION 1. Article III, Section 6(b) of the Charter of the Village of Mayfield <br />is amended to read as follows: <br />SECTION 6. SALARIES, BONDS AND COMPENSATION <br />(b) The Council shall, in accordance with this section, fix the <br />salaries of all elective and appointed officials. The Council, or the <br />Mayor with the concurrence of the Finance Director, may authorize <br />the payment or reimbursement of expenses incurred by any official, <br />employee or member of any board or commission of the <br />Municipality for travel or otherwise in the interest of the Municipality, <br />ovnnpt thnt nnv oUnh ovrorco innmrrnd hy 4he 11Aaver muc+t ho <br />' provided that any such expense approved <br />bv the Mayor with the concurrence of the Finance Director shall not <br />exceed the Mavor's qeneral spendinq limit. Anv of the expenses <br />set forth herein incurred bv the Mayor shall be approved by <br />Council. <br />SECTION 2. This ordinance upon adoption by Council shall be referred to <br />the Clerk of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections not later than sixty (60) days <br />before the November 8, 2005 election. Upon this proposed amendment being <br />approved by the majority of the electors voting thereon, it shall become part of the <br />Charter of Mayfield Village.
