ORDINANCE NO. 2005-51 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING THE SELECTION OF WALLIS ARCHITECTS <br />FOR THE SOUTH OF PARKVIEW BALLFIELD PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, the Village pursuant to R.C. 153.65 through 153.71 and <br />through its South of Parkview Ad Hoc Committee solicited Qualification <br />Statements from individuals and firms interested in providing design, surveying or <br />construction management services; and <br />WHEREAS, after legal notices were advertised, soliciting such individuals <br />and firms, fifteen (15) Qualification Statements were received and reviewed. The <br />Ad Hoc Committee reviewed the Qualification Statements and a recommendation <br />was made to the Selection Process Committee; and <br />WHEREAS, thereafter the Selection Process Committee, which was formed <br />for the sole purpose of selecting an architect to provide professional services for <br />the softball complex and its future development, deemed WALLIS ARCHITECTS <br />the most qualified firm to provide such professional services. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Mayor is authorized and directed to-negotiate and enter <br />into an agreement with Wallis Architects who have been chosen to be the most <br />qualified firm pursuant to the mandates of R.C. 153.65 through 153.71 to provide <br />professional architectural services related to the design and development of the <br />softball complex to be located South of Parkview. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this <br />Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open <br />meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its <br />committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the <br />public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of <br />-? Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents <br />of Mayfield Village, Ohio. It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon the <br />passage by the affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to
