ORDINANCE NO. 96-1 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 1333 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES RELATIVE TO THE NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE WHEREAS, the Building Commissioner has made certain recommendations for adoption of the 1996 National Electric Code, and eliminating, redundant or unnecessary sections previously existing. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. That'Chapter 1333 of the Codified Ordinances is hereby and herein amended to read as follows: 1333.01 ADOPTION: ENFORCEMENT. (a) There is hereby adopted as the Electrical Code of Niayfield Village the 1996 Edition of the National Fire Protection Association N.F.P.A.-70 National--El-e.ctric Code. 1333.02 FILE COPIES. Copies of the N F P A-70 National Electric Code adopted herein are on file with the Building Commissioner for inspection by the public. 1333.99 PENALTY. See Section 1309.99 for penaltv. SECTION 2. That previously existing Sections 1333.01, 1333.02, 1333.03, and 1333.99 are hereby and herein repealed in their entiretyo SECTION 3. The Council finds ancl determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. SECTION 4. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Nlayfield Village, Ohio, and for the further reasons set forth in the preamble hereof. It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon the passage by the affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by law.
