ORDINANCE NO. 96-1 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 1333 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES <br />RELATIVE TO THE NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE <br />WHEREAS, the Building Commissioner has made certain <br />recommendations for adoption of the 1996 National Electric Code, <br />and eliminating, redundant or unnecessary sections previously <br />existing. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That'Chapter 1333 of the Codified Ordinances is <br />hereby and herein amended to read as follows: <br />1333.01 ADOPTION: ENFORCEMENT. <br />(a) There is hereby adopted as the Electrical Code of <br />Niayfield Village the 1996 Edition of the National Fire <br />Protection Association N.F.P.A.-70 National--El-e.ctric Code. <br />1333.02 FILE COPIES. <br />Copies of the N F P A-70 National Electric Code adopted <br />herein are on file with the Building Commissioner for <br />inspection by the public. <br />1333.99 PENALTY. <br />See Section 1309.99 for penaltv. <br />SECTION 2. That previously existing Sections 1333.01, <br />1333.02, 1333.03, and 1333.99 are hereby and herein repealed in <br />their entiretyo <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds ancl determines that all formal <br />actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance <br />have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in <br />such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 4. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the health, safety and <br />welfare of the residents of Nlayfield Village, Ohio, and for the <br />further reasons set forth in the preamble hereof. It shall, <br />therefore, take effect immediately upon the passage by the <br />affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to <br />Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time <br />allowed by law.
