ORDINANCE NO. 96-13 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO <br />A CONTRACT WITH AT&T FOR THE PURCHASE OF A <br />MERLIN TELEPHONE SYSTEM FOR USE AT THE <br />NEW VILLAGE FIRE STATION. <br />WHEREAS, it is already been deemed necessary and in the best <br />interest of the health, safety, and welfare of all Village <br />residents to build a new fire station; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to law, bids were advertised by the Village, <br />those bids were received, and it was determined that the bid of <br />AT&T was the best bid for the purchase of a Merlin Telephone System <br />to be used in the new fire station. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION l. That the Mayor is authorized and directed to enter <br />into a contract with AT&T for the purchase of a Merlin Telephone <br />System to be used at the new fire station, pursuant to the bids and <br />specifications as advertised by the Village, and pursuant to that <br />company's bid in the amount of $16,975.00, which is determined to <br />be the best bid and pursuant to the terms and conditions as set <br />forth in these documents which are attached as Exhibit A. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal <br />actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance <br />have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in <br />such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Codeo <br />SECTION 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the health, safety and <br />welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, and for the <br />further reasons set forth in the preamble hereof.
