ORDINANCE NO. 96-17 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />ANIEMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING THEiPAYMENT OF LEGAL FEES IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF THIRTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($35,000.00) <br />TO THE LAW FIRMIOF SQUIRE, SANDERS, AND DEMPSEY, <br />SPECIAL COUNSEL FbR BOND WORK PERFORMED RELATING TO <br />THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW FIRE STATION. <br />I <br />WHEREAS, the law firm of Squires, Sanders, and Dempsey serves <br />as special counsel to the Village of Mayfield with regards to bond <br />matters; and , <br />WHEREAS, Squires, 5anders, and Dempsey performed bond work <br />relating to the construct!ion of the Village's new fire station, and <br />said work is in the be'st interest of the health, safety, and <br />welfare of all Village residents. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That legal fees in the amount of thirty-five <br />thousand dollars ($35,00;0.00) for bond work relating to the new <br />fire station as performed by the law firm of Squire, Sanders, and <br />Dempsey which serves as ipecial counsel to the Village, is hereby <br />approved. <br />I - <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal <br />actions of this Council r,'elating to the adoption of this Ordinance <br />have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in <br />such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all istatutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Codem <br />SECTION 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the health, safety and <br />welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, and for the <br />further reasons set forth in the preamble hereof. It shall, <br />therefore, take effect immediately upon the passage by the <br />affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to <br />Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time <br />allowed by law. <br />MARK FIXLER <br />Council President <br />First Reading: April 15 , 1996 <br />Second Reading: Suspended , 1996 <br />Third Reading: Suspended , 1996
