t . <br />A P R ? 1 1- 9 6 T H U 9: 2 7 D I E M E R TWA S S O C_ P_ 0 2 <br />?(AWE.v <br />ORDINANCE NO. 96-i$ <br />INTRODUCED 8Y: Mayor Rinker and Council as a WholE <br />AN EMER6ENCY ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO ENTER <br />iNTO A CONTRACT WITIt INDEPENDENCE COMMUNICATIONS COMPANY <br />FOR THE PURCHASE bF TWENTY PORTABLE RADIO UNITS FOR <br />USE BY THE MAYFIELD VILLAGE SAFETY FORCES. <br />WHEREAS, it has alroady been deemed necessary and in the best <br />interest in the health, ?afety, and welfare of all of the Village <br />residents to purchase portable radio units for use by the Mayfield <br />Viilage safety forces; ahd <br />WHEREAS, pursuant td law, bids wEre advertised by the Village, <br />those bids were receive?f and it was determined that the bid of <br />Independence Communications Company was the best bid.' <br />NOW, THEREFQRE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />ViLLAGE, OHIO, THAT: $ECTIQN 1. That the-MayoX is authorized and directed to enter <br />into a qontract with Independence Communications Company for the <br />purchase of twenty (20) portable radio units for use by the <br />Mayfield Village Safety Forces, pursuant to the bid and <br />specifications as advertised by the Village, and pursuant to that <br />company's bid in the amo.unt of twenty thousand eight hundred and <br />thirty dollars and 00/100 ($20,830.00) as received by the V3liage, <br />which is determined to be the best bid, and pursuant to the terms <br />and conditions as set forth in these documents, which shall be <br />maintained kiy the Director of FinancE. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal <br />actions of this Council fElating to the adoption o€ this O.rdinance <br />have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in <br />such formal action, took place in meetinqs open to the public, in <br />compliance with all :statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 0€ the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTIQN 3. This Ordf.nance is hereby declared to be an <br />emerqency measure immediately necessary For the health, safety and <br />welfare af the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, and for the <br />further reasons set forth in the preamble hereof. Zt shall, <br />therefore, take efPect immediately upon the passage by the <br />affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to <br />Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time <br />allowed by law. <br />MARK FIXLER <br />Council President
