(17) "Political Sign" means a sign promoting any candidate seeking any political office or promoting any ballot measure to be voted upon by the electorate of the municipality. (18) "Real Estate Sign" means a sign directing attentiou to the promotion, development, construction or sale of property on which it is located. (19) "Rental or Lease Si¢n" means a temporary sign advertising space available for rent or lease in commercial buildings. (20) "Security Sign" means a sign indicating that the property is protected by a security surveillance system of any nature. (21) "Temporary Sign" means a sign of any type to announce charitable, educational, religious, civic or community affairs of a public or semi- public nature and designed for use for a limited period of time not to exceed thirty days. Such a sign may be suspended over pubic property or any other location for an appropriate period as determined by the Mayor and Building Commissioner not to exceed thirty days. (22) "Vehicle Sign" means a sign that is either permanent or temporary and is affixed, painted on or plaeed in or upon any parked vehicle, parked trailer or other parked device capable of being towed, which is displayed in public view under such circumstances as to location on the premises, time of day,. duration, availability, of =other parking . space on the premises, and the proximity of the ` vehicle to the 'area on the premises where it is loaded, unloaded or otherwise carries out its principal function, wliich circumstances indicate that the primary purpose of such display is to attract - the '.attention of -the public rather than to serve the business of the, owner thereof in the , manner • which is customary for such vehicle. ( c ) Classification by Structural Tvne. (1) "Canopy Sign" means a sign attached to the soffit or fascia of a canopy, of a covered entrance or walkway or to a permanent awning or marquee. (2) "Ground Sign" means a freestanding sign which has a supporting base designed as an integral part of the sign and resting totally or primarily on the ground. (3) "Pole Sign" means a sign which is supported wholly by a single pole or brace upon the ground and not attached to any building. (4) "Portable Sign" means a sign which is designed to be portable and is not permanently attached to any part of a build or permanently anchored to the ground. (5) "Projection Sign" means a sign, other than a wall sign, erected on the outside wall of a building and which projects out at an angle therefrom, extending more than fifteen inches from the face of the wall of the building, wall or other structure and is supported thereby.
