f ORDINANCE NO. 97- i3 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE CREATING SECTION 351.13 PROHIBITING CERTAIN PARKING ON FRONT YARDS AND TREE LAWNS WHEREAS, it is the desire of Council, based upon the recommendations of the Ordinance Review Committee and the Planning Commission, to prohibit certain parking of motor vehicles, for the purpose of offering same for sale; in the front yard and tree lawn areas of residential property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. That Section 351.13 of the Codified Ordinances is hereby and herein created to read as follows: 351.13 PARKING ON FRONT YARDS OR TREE LAWNS (a) No person or property owner shall, at any time, park or store, or permit to be parked or stored, on residential property, any motor vehicles, truck, tractor-trailer, motorcycle, trailer, bus, boat or other vehicle for the purpose of selling same, between the residential set back line and the public right-of-way, except on the driveway and/or lawful turn-around area. (b) Vehicles parked in such areas for the purpose of selling must be owned by a resident of the premises upon which such vehicle is parked. (c) No vehicle shall be parked, for the purpose of selling, for more than 14 days. No person shall display more than two (2) vehicles on any premise during any twelve (12) month period. (d) Signs shall be limited to no more than a total of six (6) square feet in area and must be placed inside the windows of the vehicle. Vehicles without windows may place a single sign no larger than six (6) square feet in area. SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of thjs Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. SECTION 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield ,~ (2) ~~.
