ORDINANCE NO. 97-20 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A CODE 3 RESCUE TOOL <br />FROM FINLEY FIRE EQUIPMENT, INC. <br />WHEREAS, informal bids were solicited from miscellaneous companies for a Code <br />3 Rescue Tool; and <br />WHEREAS, the cost of this equipment is to be shared equally between the Village <br />of Gates Mills and the Village of Mayfield; and <br />WHEREAS, the total cost is $7,549.43, with the Village of Mayfield's portion to be <br />$3,774.71. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That the Mayor and Fire Chief are hereby and herein authorized and <br />directed to enter into an agreement for the purchase of a Code 3 Rescue Tool from Finley <br />Fire Equipment, Inc. for a sum not to exceed $7,549.43. <br />SECTION 2. The Director of Finance is authorized to make payment for the <br />aforementioned sum, and to receive reimbursement from the Village of Gates Mills so that <br />the net cost to the Village of Mayfield does not exceed $3,774.71. <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this <br />Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of <br />this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory <br />requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 4. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio, and for the further reasons set forth in the preamble hereof. It shall, <br />therefore, take effect immediately upon the passage by the affirmative vote of not less <br />than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the <br />earliest time allowed by law. <br />
