ORDINANCE NO. 97-20 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A CODE 3 RESCUE TOOL FROM FINLEY FIRE EQUIPMENT, INC. WHEREAS, informal bids were solicited from miscellaneous companies for a Code 3 Rescue Tool; and WHEREAS, the cost of this equipment is to be shared equally between the Village of Gates Mills and the Village of Mayfield; and WHEREAS, the total cost is $7,549.43, with the Village of Mayfield's portion to be $3,774.71. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. That the Mayor and Fire Chief are hereby and herein authorized and directed to enter into an agreement for the purchase of a Code 3 Rescue Tool from Finley Fire Equipment, Inc. for a sum not to exceed $7,549.43. SECTION 2. The Director of Finance is authorized to make payment for the aforementioned sum, and to receive reimbursement from the Village of Gates Mills so that the net cost to the Village of Mayfield does not exceed $3,774.71. SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. SECTION 4. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, and for the further reasons set forth in the preamble hereof. It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon the passage by the affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time allowed by law.
