AMENDED 12/17/90 See corrected copy <br />ORDINANCE NO. 90- 49 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />MAINTAINING WAGES, BENEFITS AND OTHER <br />TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR <br />FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, <br />WHO ARE CALLED TO ACTIVE MILIARY SERVICE DURING <br />THE MIDDLE EAST CRISIS, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES <br />INCONSISTENT HEREWITH AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, there is evidence that there may be eminent <br />military action taken by the United States Armed Forces in the <br />Middle East; and <br />WHEREAS, there is a possibility that men and women <br />presently serving as Municipal employees may be called into <br />active service in the Middle East; and <br />WHEREAS, such service will cause a dramatic impact on the <br />families of such service men and women; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village have <br />recognized the need for assisting the families in maintaining <br />their standard of living while such family members are called <br />into active military service; now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. Commencing with the effective date of this <br />ordinance, there is hereby established a policy of maintaining <br />the wages, benefits and other terms and conditions of employment <br />for all full-time Municipal employees of Mayfield Village, Ohio, <br />when he/she is called into active military service during the <br />Middle East crisis. The Director of Finance is authorized to <br />continue paying their base wages during their time of military <br />service, less however, his/her military wages received during <br />such service. <br />SECTION 2. All prior Ordinances inconsistent with this <br />Ordinance, in whole or in part, are repealed to the extent <br />necessary to avoid conflict with this Ordinance. <br />
