A1.V. RESOLUTION N0. 90-16 <br />Page -2- <br />A majority affirmative vote is necessary for passage. <br />A renewal of a two and three-tenths mill tax for the <br />benefit of Mayfield Village for the purpose of providing <br />for the current expenses of Mayfield Village at a rate not <br />exceeding two and three-tenths mills for each one dollar <br />of valuation, which amounts to 23 cents for each one <br />hundred dollars of valuation, for five years. <br />FOR THE TAX LEVY <br />AGAINST THE TAX LEVY <br />SECTION 4. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to <br />certify a copy of this Resolution to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections <br />immediately upon its passage, as provided by law, and to notify the Board of <br />Elections to cause notice of said election on the question of levying said tax <br />to be given as required by law. <br />SECTION 5. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of <br />this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at <br />open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of <br />its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open <br />to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 6. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the immediate preservation of the health, safety and <br />welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio for the reason that the <br />continued receipt of the proceeds of said levy is necessary to enable the <br />Village to provide essential municipal services. It shall, therefore, take <br />effect immediately upon the passage by the affirmative vote of not less than <br />five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at <br />the earliest time allowed by law. <br />L LL AN M.
