03/19/90 <br />P~ESOLUTION N0. 90- 20 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole <br />A P.E50LUTION <br />URGING THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CUYAHOGA COUNTY TO DEVELOP A <br />COUNTY-WIDE WASTE DISPOSAL PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, solid waste disposal is rapidly approaching crisis dimensions; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the individual communities within Cuyahoga County are not <br />equipped to handle solid waste disposal on an individual municipal basis; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council believe that the Board of County Commis- <br />sioners of Cuyahoga County should exert leadership and devote their time, <br />energy and talent to the development of a county-wide waste disposal program <br />and work closely with solid waste consortiums within the county to properly <br />address the methods of solid waste disposal; and <br />WHEREAS, the failure to adopt a comprehensive plan will lead to increased <br />costs to municipalities for waste disposal thereby indirectly increasing the <br />tax burden upon all. residents with in the county; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Mayor and <br />urge the Board of County Commi, <br />waste disposal problems within <br />their time, energy and talents <br />with all municipal solid waste <br />within the county. <br />Council of Mayfield Village hereby strongly <br />ssioners of Cuyahoga County to address the solid <br />the county on a county-wide basis and to direct <br />toward a county-wide program in cooperation <br />consortiums and all municipal corporations <br />SECTION 2. The Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and <br />directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Cuyahoga County. <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of <br />this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at <br />open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of <br />its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open <br />to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />
