03/19/90 P~ESOLUTION N0. 90- 20 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole A P.E50LUTION URGING THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CUYAHOGA COUNTY TO DEVELOP A COUNTY-WIDE WASTE DISPOSAL PROGRAM WHEREAS, solid waste disposal is rapidly approaching crisis dimensions; and WHEREAS, the individual communities within Cuyahoga County are not equipped to handle solid waste disposal on an individual municipal basis; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council believe that the Board of County Commis- sioners of Cuyahoga County should exert leadership and devote their time, energy and talent to the development of a county-wide waste disposal program and work closely with solid waste consortiums within the county to properly address the methods of solid waste disposal; and WHEREAS, the failure to adopt a comprehensive plan will lead to increased costs to municipalities for waste disposal thereby indirectly increasing the tax burden upon all. residents with in the county; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. The Mayor and urge the Board of County Commi, waste disposal problems within their time, energy and talents with all municipal solid waste within the county. The Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Board of County Commissioners of Cuyahoga County. SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
