>, <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-16 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF <br />TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($2,500.00) <br />TO THE HAYFIELD TOWNSHIP HISTORICAL <br />SOCIETY FOR THE RESTORATION OF THE <br />HISTORICAL BENNETT-VAN CUREN BUILDING AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, The Mayfield Township Historical Society is a <br />corporation, not for profit, organized and existing under the <br />laws of the State of Ohio; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 149.20 of the Ohio Revised Code provides, <br />in part, that the Ohio General Assembly may appropriate money to <br />the Ohio Historical Society to carry out its public functions as <br />enumerated in Chapter 149 of the Ohio Revised Code; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 307.23 of the Ohio Revised Code provides, <br />in part, that Boards of County Commissioners may appropriate <br />money to historical societies within their counties for promotion <br />of historical work; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayfield Township Historical Society has moved <br />a historical building to a certain parcel of land owned by the <br />Municipality on S.O.M. Center Road north of Wilson Mills Road; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayfield Township Historical Society has <br />requested that Mayfield Village allocate the sum of Two Thousand <br />Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00) toward the restoration of the <br />said historical building; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council will insist that the <br />Mayfield Township Historical Society provide statements as to its <br />financial condition in determining future appropriations toward <br />the restoration of the said historical building; and <br />
