ORDINANCE NO. 91- 06 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and the Entire Council <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL <br />TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH HAMILTON IN3URANCE AGENCIES <br />IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE THOUSAND ONE HIINDRED <br />FORTY-TWO DOLLARS ($3,142.00) FOR THE PURCHASE OF <br />POLICE PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE FOR <br />MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, FOR THE PERIOD <br />COMMENCING MARCH 16, 1991 AND TERMINATING <br />JULY 1, 1991, SUSPENDING THE COMPETITIVE BIDDING <br />REQUIREMENT OF SECTION 123.02 CODIFIED ORDINANCES <br />OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIOl APTD <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have determined that the <br />solicitation of competitive bids by advertisement as required by <br />3ection 123.02 of the Codified Ordinances of Mayfield Village, <br />Ohio, would result in bids not equal in terms or conditions and, <br />therefore, not truly competitive; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have further determined that <br />few insurance carriers are bidding in the municipal insurance <br />market; and <br />WHEREAB, the Mayor and Council have, therefore, determined <br />that the competitive bidding requirement is to.be suspended in <br />order to allow the Municipality to purchase the policy of police <br />professional liability insurance it feels is best suited for its <br />needs; now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Mayor and President of Council are hereby <br />authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Hamilton <br />Insurance Agencies for the purchase of a policy of police <br />professional liability insurance for the period commencing March <br />16, 1991, arid terminating July 1, 1991. <br />SECTION 2. The premium for the policy period referred to <br />hereinabove shall be in an amount not to exceed Three Thousand <br />One Hundred Forty-Two Dollars ($3,142.00) and shall be in <br />accordance with the specifications included in the bid proposal <br />submitted by the Hamilton Insurance Agencies.
