See Amended Copy <br />ORDINANCE NO. 91- 33 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />SUBMITTING 7'O THE ELECTORATE OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OgIIO, <br />A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO TFIE CHARTEIt OF T3iE VILLAGE <br />ALLOWING ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION FOIt THE P12ESIDENT OF <br />COUNCIL, PROVIDIIdG FOR ALL NECESSARY PROCEDURES <br />IN CONNECTION HEREWITH AND DECLARING AN ENiERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the existing Charter under Article X permits <br />Council, by vote of at least two-thirds (2/3) of its members, to <br />propose any amendment to the Charter for submission for approval <br />of a majority of the electors voting thereon; and <br />WHEREAS, Article III, 5ection 15, provides for one (1) of <br />the members of Council to be chosen as President of Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the President of Council, in addition to having <br />all the powers, duties, functions, obligations and rights of <br />other members, must preside at all meetings of Council and shall <br />appoint and coordinate the various committees of Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council desire to amend Article III, <br />Section 7, of the Charter of Mayfield Village to allow additional <br />compensation for the President of Council for assuming such <br />responsibility; and <br />WHEREAS, the next regularly scheduled General Election is <br />to held on Tuesday, November 5, 1991, and any such issue, <br />therefore, be submitted to the Cuyahoga County Board of Election <br />at least Sixty (60) days prior thereto, on September 6, 1991; now <br />therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. Pursuant to Article X of the Charter of <br />Mayfield Village, Ohio, the Village Council proposes the <br />following amendment to the Charter of the Village, said proposed <br />amendment to be submitted to the electorate of the Municipality <br />at their regularly scheduled General Election to be held on the <br />fifth (5th) day of November, 1991. The proposed amendment shall <br />be designated by a ballot question number. The proposed <br />amendment and respective ballot question shall be as follows:
