See Amended Copy ORDINANCE NO. 91- 33 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole AN ORDINANCE SUBMITTING 7'O THE ELECTORATE OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OgIIO, A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO TFIE CHARTEIt OF T3iE VILLAGE ALLOWING ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION FOIt THE P12ESIDENT OF COUNCIL, PROVIDIIdG FOR ALL NECESSARY PROCEDURES IN CONNECTION HEREWITH AND DECLARING AN ENiERGENCY WHEREAS, the existing Charter under Article X permits Council, by vote of at least two-thirds (2/3) of its members, to propose any amendment to the Charter for submission for approval of a majority of the electors voting thereon; and WHEREAS, Article III, 5ection 15, provides for one (1) of the members of Council to be chosen as President of Council; and WHEREAS, the President of Council, in addition to having all the powers, duties, functions, obligations and rights of other members, must preside at all meetings of Council and shall appoint and coordinate the various committees of Council; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council desire to amend Article III, Section 7, of the Charter of Mayfield Village to allow additional compensation for the President of Council for assuming such responsibility; and WHEREAS, the next regularly scheduled General Election is to held on Tuesday, November 5, 1991, and any such issue, therefore, be submitted to the Cuyahoga County Board of Election at least Sixty (60) days prior thereto, on September 6, 1991; now therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. Pursuant to Article X of the Charter of Mayfield Village, Ohio, the Village Council proposes the following amendment to the Charter of the Village, said proposed amendment to be submitted to the electorate of the Municipality at their regularly scheduled General Election to be held on the fifth (5th) day of November, 1991. The proposed amendment shall be designated by a ballot question number. The proposed amendment and respective ballot question shall be as follows:
