ORDINANCE N0. 91-38 <br />7. Flood. "Flood" means the temporary inundation of any <br />land not normally covered by water due to heavy rainfall <br />or runoff or due to a temporary rise in the level of <br />rivers, streams, watercourses, or lakes. <br />8. Average Annual Flood. "Average Annual Flood" means a <br />flood equal to the mean of discharges of all the maximum <br />annual floods during the period of record. <br />9. Regional Flood. "Regional Flood" means the name applied <br />to the 100-year flood in flood plain information reports. <br />The 100-year flood has a one percent probability of being <br />equalled or exceeded in a period of 100 years. <br />10. Maximum Probable Flood. "Maximum Probable Flood" means <br />the largest flood discharge believed possible considering <br />the meteorologic conditions and snow cover on the <br />watershed. <br />11. Floodway. "Floodway" means the channel of the <br />watercourse and those portions of the adjoining flood <br />plain which are used to convey the regional flood. <br />12. Grassed Waterway. "Grassed Waterway" means a broad and <br />shallow natural course or constructed channel covered <br />with erosion resistant grasses or similar herbaceous <br />cover and used to conduct surface water. <br />13. Hydrologic and Hydraulic Study. "Hydrologic and <br />Hydraulic Study" means engineering study utilizing SCS TR <br />55, 1986 Edition or latest Edition, to determine rates, <br />volumes, and distribution of storm runoff, and its <br />10
