Mayfield Village Codified Ordinances <br />139.44 DISPOSITION OF PROPERTY HELD BY )POLICE DEPARTMENT. <br />{a) Any property that has been seized in relation to a violation of Ohio RC. 9~ 8! .12 and _ ~ - o~eeed: z93s.4a <br />any contraband in the custody of the Police Department that is subject to the provisions of Ohio <br />R.C. 29 1.~shalI be held and disposed of pursuant to Ohio R.C. 9~ 8] .12 and any other _ _ _ _ _ _ _ - oe~etea: 2933.43 <br />procedure provided by law. Any other property that has been lost, abandoned, stolen, seized ~etetea: z933.a3 <br />pursuant to a search wan:ant, or otherwise lawfully seized or forfeited, and that is in the custody <br />of the Police Department, shall be held and disposed of pursuant to Ohio R.C. X981.11 and any _ _ - _ - oe~eked: 2933.41 <br />other procedure provided by law. <br />(b) The Finance Director is hereby authorized and directed to establish a Special Revenue <br />Generic Fund Type which shall be known as the Law Enforcement Fund. Moneys resulting from <br />the retention, sale or other disposition by the Police Department of contraband forfeited pursuant <br />to Ohio R.C. 931.13_A shall be accounted for in the Fund af~er_payment of the charges_set _ - oetetea: 2933.43(c ~-~ <br />forth in division (~){l) through (~~4) of thatsection. Moneys from the Fund shall be allocated _ - Deleted: o <br />by Council to the Police Department only, and shall only be expended for any one or more of the ~ ' ,, ueleted: n <br />following purposes: ~ • Deleted: 3 <br />(1} To pay the costs of protracted or complex investigation or prosecutions; <br />(2) To provide reasonable technical training or expertise; <br />(3) To provide matching funds to obtain federal grants to aid Iaw enforcement; <br />(4) For such other law enforcement purposes as the Council determines tc be <br />appropriate. <br />(c) Any and all moneys that result from the retention, sale or other disposition of property <br />by the Police Department and that do not qualify to be accounted for in the Law Enforcement <br />Fund, shall be accounted for in the General Fund. <br />(Ord. 89-45.
