Ivl.ayfield Village Green <br />Grant Funding <br />Grant opportunities offer financial assistance to fund both <br />construction projects and planning documents, such as this one <br />funded by NOACA's TLCI Grant. <br />To the right are brief descriptions of recommended grant sources <br />specifically applicable to Phases 1-12 and further feasibility <br />studies. See the Phasing Plan for more information on which <br />phases each grant could be applied to. Some phases may be <br />eligible to combine grants. <br />Grant applications vary in length and time needed to complete. <br />Most grants require a local match fund, which in some cases <br />can come from another grant. <br />t??ar?? rt:ss <br />Uty d dsvNaM <br />' biapr Ftrk4 L¢0.tmn <br />? <br />Safe.ROutes Cledn <br />,, <br />1; <br />??0 <br />Fund? <br />Grant Funding <br />Clean Ohio Conservation Fund <br />This grant could be used to purchase open space, create easements, restore <br />streams or wetlands, and to fund public access construction including parking lots <br />and trails. Past projects have recieved from $7500 -$1 million. Funding requires <br />a minimum of a 25% local or federal match. This fund was reauthorized on the <br />November 2008 ballot. Projects compete with others in Cuyahoga County. <br />Clean Ohio Trails Fund <br />The Clean Ohio Trails Fund works to improve outdoor recreational opportunities for <br />Ohioans by funding trails for outdoor pursuits of all kinds. Special emphasis was <br />given to projects that: <br />• Are consistent with the statewide trail plan <br />• Complete regional trail systems and links to the statewide trail plan <br />• Link population centers with outdoor recreation area and facilities <br />• Involve the purchase of rail lines linked to the statewide trail plan <br />• Preserve natural corridors <br />• Provide links in urban areas to support commuter access and provide economic <br />benefit. <br />There is a local match of25% non-federal money. Planning, engineering, construction <br />and acquisition are funded through this program. This fund was reauthorized on the <br />November 2008 ballot. Projects compete statewide. <br />Land & UVater Conservation Fund <br />Administered by Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODIVR) this statewide <br />grant typically funds open space acquisition and small recreation based projects. <br />Typical award amount is $50,000. Funding requires a minimum of 50% local <br />match. This grant application is due February 1 st every year. Projects compete <br />statewide. <br />Natureworks <br />Administered by Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODIVR) this statewide <br />grant typically funds playgrounds, parking improvements, landscaping and other <br />small projects. Typical award amount is less than $30,000. Funding requires a <br />minimum of 25% local match. This grant application is due February 1 st every year. <br />Projects compete statewide. 72
