Passed 11-13-91.) <br />(g) An approved barrier shall be provided to establish the limits of each parking area on each lot. <br />(Ord. 75-16. Passed 9-8-75.) <br />(h) All required oft=street parking spaces shall have a vertical clearance of at least six (6) feet <br />and siY (,6) inches. <br />(i) Handicapped off-streei parlcin Spaces shall be provided in size and number as specified in <br />the Ohio Basic Building Code. - <br />(j) Required off-street parlcing spaces shall have a maximum square foot area of no more than <br />1-980 square feet or nine a•,d e„°ha'f feet wide and twenty feet in length eYClusive of access <br />drives and aisles. <br />(k) If a column or other obstruction is adjacent to aparking space and would interfere with car <br />CIOOT 0p011111aS then the maYimtun stall width of that space shall be increased bv 1 foot. The <br />inner face of the column or other obstruction shall form the actual boundary of the space <br />when measuring the width or length of the spaces. <br />(1) ParkinQ areas shall be desi ng ed to permit each motor vehicle to proceed to and from the <br />parlcing space provided without requiring the moving of a_ny other motor vehicle. <br />(m) Parking areas desirned to hold 100 parking spaces or more shall: <br />1. Dedicate at least ] 0% of the spaces to compact cars. <br />(A) The maxiinum layout dimensions for compact car parlcing spaces shall have a <br />maximum square footage of no more than 144 square feet or eight feet wide and <br />eighteen feet in lenarth• <br />(B) The owner of the parlcinQ area shall designate compact car spaces bv si ng s approved <br />bv Planning and Zoning Commission with a minimum of 1 sigii per every 4 <br />compact car spaces. <br />(-?}(C) Con?act car parkin?paces shall be arouped to promote better use. <br />2. Include interior landscapinQ to cover not less than 10% of the parlcing and maneuvering <br />area in addition to aiU parlcinc lot perimeter landscapina and screening requirements;. <br />. This landscaping?requirement can include bioretention cells, <br />enlianced swales or tilter strips for storm water management where appropriate and <br />approved by the Villa?,Te Engineer. Review and approval by the Villa g1e eEngineer shall <br />be as detailed in Chapter 1125 Comprehensive Storm Water Management and include the <br />required inspection and maintenance aQreements. <br />1183.11 ILLUMINATION OF PARKING AND LOADING AREAS <br />Parking and loading areas shall be illuminated whenever necessary to protect the public safety. <br />Such illumination shall be so designed and located that light sources are shielded from adjoining <br />residential districts and streets, and shall not be of excessive brightness or cause a glare <br />hazardous to pedestrians or drivers. (Ord-75 16, °-o-? -5-.) <br />1. In no case shall such liahtin2 cause more than 0.2 foot candle, on averaae, of lip-ht to fall on <br />adiacent properties measured horizontally at the lot line, without any shadowing effect from <br />parlced vehicles or trees at points of ineasurement. For the purposes of this Section, all light <br />readin,s shall be tal:en fi•om ground level with a direct reading portable light meter. <br />2. Shields shall be used where necessarv to prevent exposure of adjacent properties. <br />9
