ORDINANCE NO. 2009-08 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole _lw AN EMERGEle1CY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE 1VIAYOR TO ENTEit INTO ABILLING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH LIFE FORCE lYIANAGEMENT, INC. WHEREAS, the Village has determined it to be in its best interest to implement a process to recover the cost for providing emergency services to non-residents in accordance with Chapter 1523; and WHEREAS, in coordination with the implementation of that Chapter, the Village will be required to obtain an emergency medical services billing company to provide billing services for the collection of the costs being implemented for the emergency medical services provided to non-residents pursuant to Chapter 1523; and ? WHEREAS, the Village has consulted various companies who provide such services and deemed Life Force Management, Inc. the best and most qualified entity to provide such services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. The Mayor and President of Council are hereby and herein authorized and directed to enter into a billing services agreement with Life Force Management, Inc. in a form substantially similar to that attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit "A". SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. SECTION 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, ,? Ohio.
