ORDINANCE NO. 2009-41 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING THE SELECTION OF <br />PANZICA CONSTRUCTION COIIiIPANY AS THE FIRM <br />TO PROVIDE DESIGN BUILD SERVICES TO THE VILLAGE FOR THE <br />CONSTRUCTION OF THE VILLAGE'S POLICE STATION <br />AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO NEGOTIATE <br />AND ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT. <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 2009-01, this Council determined that <br />the design-build method for the construction of the Village's Police Station was the <br />most appropriate method to obtain the best quality, service, performance, efficiencies <br />and price for the project; and <br />WHEREAS, a subcommittee known as the Police Station Selection Committee <br />engaged in a two step process to review the qualifications of the firms and their <br />proposals to make a recommendation to this Council for the award of a contract to the <br />most qualified firm submitting the lowest and best proposal for the work; and <br />WHEREAS, the Police Station Selection Committee is recommending the <br />selection of Panzica Construction Company as the most qualified firm that submitted <br />the lowest and best proposal which provides the most quality, service, perFormance <br />and efficiencies and value for the project to construct the Village Police Station; and <br />WHEREAS, Council deems it in the best interest of the Village and its residents <br />to authorize the selection of Panzica Construction Company as the firm most qualified <br />to provide design build services to the Village for the construction of the Village's <br />Police Station. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Mayor is authorized and directed to negotiate and enter into <br />an agreement with Panzica Construction Company, in a form substantially similar to <br />that included within the Request For Proposals, in an amount not to exceed Four <br />Million Dollars ($4,000,000.00). <br />SECTION 2. The Director of Finance is authorized and directed to appropriate <br />to a proper account the sum sufficient to cover the cost of the contract set forth in <br />Section 1.
