ORDINANCE NO. 2009-48 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole AN EMERGENCY ORDIlNANCE AUTHORIZING AN AGI2EEME1lTT VVITH THE BOARD OF COUle1TY COMNIISSIONERS, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OHIO, FOR THE FY 2007 HOMELAND SECURI'PY GRANT PROGRAM ("HSGP") COlVIMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM ("CERT") PROJECT. WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, Cuyahoga County, Ohio on February 7, 2008, on behalf of the Department of Justice, Public Safety Grants Administration approved a grant for the FY 2007 Urban Area Security Initiative under the FY 2007 Homeland 5ecurity Grant Program; and WBEREAS, in order to coordinate and identify activities, procurement and services utilizing the grant funds including the CERT Team, received by the County, the Village deems it in its best interest to enter into an Agreement with the County setting forth the responsibilities of each party and the coordination of those responsibilities as it relates to the FY 2007 HSGP grant. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. The Mayor is authorized and directed to enter into an Agreement between the Board of Cuyahoga County Commissioners and Mayfield Village as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. SECTION 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio.
