ORDINANCE NO. 2009-48 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDIlNANCE <br />AUTHORIZING AN AGI2EEME1lTT VVITH THE <br />BOARD OF COUle1TY COMNIISSIONERS, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OHIO, <br />FOR THE FY 2007 HOMELAND SECURI'PY GRANT PROGRAM ("HSGP") <br />COlVIMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM ("CERT") PROJECT. <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, Cuyahoga County, Ohio on <br />February 7, 2008, on behalf of the Department of Justice, Public Safety Grants <br />Administration approved a grant for the FY 2007 Urban Area Security Initiative under the <br />FY 2007 Homeland 5ecurity Grant Program; and <br />WBEREAS, in order to coordinate and identify activities, procurement and services <br />utilizing the grant funds including the CERT Team, received by the County, the Village <br />deems it in its best interest to enter into an Agreement with the County setting forth the <br />responsibilities of each party and the coordination of those responsibilities as it relates to <br />the FY 2007 HSGP grant. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Mayor is authorized and directed to enter into an Agreement <br />between the Board of Cuyahoga County Commissioners and Mayfield Village as set forth <br />in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this <br />Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this <br />Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory <br />requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio.
