RESOLUTTON N0. 2002-: 0q <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />A RE50LUTION <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND FINANCE DIIZECTOR TO SEEK <br />FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE STATE ISSUE I CLEAN OHIO <br />PROGRAM FOR FUNDING OF THE BEECHER'S SROOK OUTFALL <br />PROJECT FiJND AND THE UPPER 40 OUTFALL PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, the State of Ohio is authorized to issue bonds and other obligations ofthe State <br />for the purpose of financing the acquisition of green space and the rehabilitation of riparian areas of <br />political subdivisions as designated by law; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the Ohio Revised Code, the Cuyahoga County Natural Resources <br />Assistance Council (NR.AC) has been created to accept, evaluate and recommend applications for <br />state fmancing of green space acquisition projects and riparian reahabilitation projects of political <br />subdivisions in Cuyahoga County; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the Ohio Revised Code, the Ohio Public Works Commission has <br />been created to accept and approve applications for sta.te financing of green space acquisition and <br />riparian rehabilitation projects of political subdivisions in Cuyahoga County; and <br />WHEREAS, the Village has conducted a needs assessment and has determined that it is <br />necessary to submit applications for financial assistance for Green Space Acquisition and Riparian <br />Improvement Projects. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That_the Mayor is hereby authorized to apply directly to the Ohio Public <br />Works Commission for the following capital infrastructure improvement projects: <br />The Beecher's Brook Outfall Project <br />Phase I ofthe Upper 40 Riparian Rehabilitation Project <br />SECTION 2. That the Mayor is further authorized to enter into any agreements as may be <br />necessary and appropriate for obtaining this fmancial assistance,. as approved as to form by the <br />Village Law Director, and in accordance with all authority granted to and limitations upon the <br />Village Director of Finance. <br />Page 1 of 2
